Olive (Olea europaea)

The cultivated olive tree is a medium-sized tree, about 4 to 8 m tall depending on the specie. It can stay alive and productive for hundreds of years. The trunk is thick and the bark is gray to grayish green.The shape of the tree is greatly influenced by the agronomic and environmental conditions during its growth and, in particular, by the type of pruning. The olive tree shows a great genetic morpho-plasticity.The flowers of the tree are grouped up to 40 in clusters. They are bisexual flowers or polygams with four white petals and two anthers in inflorescences.The fruit, or drupe, is very oily, with 1 to 3.5 cm long. It is green during the beginning and then becomes vinous black.


Asparagus/ (Asparagus acutifolius L. )

It is an evergreen prickly shrub up to 2 m tall, sometimes liana-shaped. It blooms at the end of the summer and gives rise to 5-8 mm strawberries.



Heather (Erica australis L.)

Shrub is up to 3 m very branched with small linear trivertylated leaves. Flowers in terminal clusters of 4-8 agrupated are pink flowers that measures 1 cm long. It blooms from winter to mid-spring.


Olivilla (Teucrium fruticans)

It is an evergreen shrub up to 1.5-2 m tall, with very branched quadrangular stems. It is gray foliage, especially on the underside. Its typical lipstick flowers are similar to those of rosemary, pale violet. Hermaphrodite flower feet and female flower feet are given separately. 


Hom oak (Quercus ilex)

It is an evergreen tree up to 15-20 m high, rounded crown. It has coriaceous, spiny leaves in young specimens, dark green, grayish and hairy on the underside. Its fruit is the sweet acorn. 


Cork oak (Quercus suber L. )

It is an evergreen tree up to 25 m high, whose bark develops cork as protection against fire.Its leaves are bright green by the beam and somewhat silver on the underside. It produces a fairly large acorn, ut to 6 cm long.


Cantueso (Lavandula stoechas Lam. )

It is very branched shrub up to 80-100 cm tall, with very aromatic linear, tomentose and greyish leaves. The inflorescences form compact spikes of small flowers and with large violet bracts on the top of the spike. It has quadrangular stems.


Broom (Retama sphaerocarpa (L) Boiss)

The broom is a shrub up to 3 m high. It’s very branched. It’s almost leafless or with linear leaflets. Its twigs are gray. Its small flowers are yellow and give rise to small ovoid legumes.


Gorse (Genista scorpius)

It is a kind of arbustiba plant which belongs to the fabaceae family. It’s a stumpy, very branched and thorny shrub up to 1 m high. It has grizzly pubescent stems and spines. It also has long yellow flowers, papillionaceous between 8-12 mm long. It grows in Winter. It has fruits in the form of a long legume of 10-12 mm long. 



Rockrose (Cistus salviaefolius.)

Large-sized jara, up to 1.5 or 2 m tall, with large, armored, rough and curly leaves. It has white flowers with 5 petals and about 4-6 cm long in groups of up to 8 flowers. It grows in spring.
